Short Text

The short text field collects brief, single-line answers — think names, job titles, one-word answers, or anything that doesn’t need a whole paragraph.

Adding a short text field

• Click the + button between blocks, or
• Type /short and select Short answer from the list

Then type your question or label above the field.

Settings

Click the drag handle on the left side of the field to open its settings:

• Required — toggle this on to make the field mandatory. Respondents won’t be able to submit without filling it in
• Maximum characters — set a character limit if you need to keep answers brief

Tips

• Use short text for things like names, titles, or quick one-liners
• If you need longer responses, use the Long Text field instead
• Pair it with a clear, specific question to get better answers (“What’s your first name?” beats “Name”)
