Settings
Click the drag handle to open settings:
- Required — respondents must select at least one option
- Multiple selections — let people choose more than one option (turns radio buttons into checkboxes)
- Other — adds a free-text “Other” option so respondents can write in their own answer
- Randomize — shuffle the order of options for each respondent to reduce order bias
Single vs. multiple selection
- Single selection (default) — respondents pick exactly one option. In the published form, selecting an option on a single-select field will automatically advance to the next page
- Multiple selection — respondents can check as many options as they like
Tips
- Keep option lists manageable — if you have more than 10-12 options, consider breaking them into categories or using a different field type
- Use the “Other” option when you’re not 100% sure you’ve covered every possibility
- Option order can influence responses — put the most common choices first, or randomize if you want unbiased results
