Long Text

The long text field gives respondents room to write detailed answers. It renders as a multi-line text area that grows as they type.

Adding a long text field

• Click the + button between blocks, or
• Type /long and select Long answer from the list

Settings

Click the drag handle to access settings:

• Required — make this field mandatory
• Maximum characters — cap the response length if needed (up to 20,000 characters)

When to use it

Long text is great for:

• Open-ended feedback (“What could we improve?”)
• Detailed descriptions or explanations
• Comments and suggestions
• Anything where a single line just won’t cut it

For short, structured answers, the Short Text field is a better fit.
