Cover Images
A cover image sits at the top of your form like a banner. It’s a great way to add branding, set the mood, or just make your form look more polished.
Adding a cover image
Click the Design button in the toolbar, then find the Cover image section. You have two options:
Upload your own
Click to upload an image from your device. Use a wide, landscape-oriented image for the best results.
Generate with AI
Describe what you want and AI creates a unique image for you. See Generate a Cover Image with AI for tips.
Color extraction
After adding a cover image, FormGrid extracts the dominant colors from it and displays them as swatches in the color pickers. This is a quick way to build a color scheme that matches your cover image — just click a swatch to apply it.
Cover edge styles
Once your form has a cover image, the Cover edge setting appears in the Form design panel. Use it to shape the bottom edge of the cover image so it transitions more smoothly into the form below.
Available styles include Arc Up, Arc Down, Wave, Up, Down, Zigzag, and Paper. Choose None to keep the cover image rectangular.
Removing a cover image
Open the cover image section in the Form design panel and remove the current image. Your form goes back to a clean header-less look.
Tips
- Use images that work well at wide aspect ratios — they’ll span the full width of the form
- Keep important content out of the extreme edges in case of cropping on different screen sizes
- Try a cover edge style to soften the transition between the image and your form
- A cover image plus matching theme colors (via color extraction) creates a really polished look with minimal effort
- Your cover image is also used as the default link preview image when your form is shared on social media. You can override this with a custom image in link settings
