Form States
Every form in FormGrid goes through different states. Here’s what each one means.
Draft
A form starts as a draft. It’s only visible to you and your team in the editor. Respondents can’t access it until you publish.
Published
Once you click Publish, the form goes live. Respondents can access it via the form link and submit responses. You can continue editing after publishing — changes stay in draft until you publish again.
Closed
When you’re done collecting responses, you can close your form. Closed forms show a message to visitors letting them know the form is no longer accepting submissions.
How to close a form
- Open the form in the editor
- Open the more menu (three-dot icon) in the toolbar and select Settings
- Toggle Close form on
Reopening a closed form
Changed your mind? Just toggle the Close form setting back off in the same settings dialog and your form is open for submissions again.
Tips
- Closing a form doesn’t delete any responses — all your data is safe
- You can still view, export, and share responses from a closed form
- Use the preview to see what the closed message looks like to respondents
