Generate a Form with AI
Don’t want to start from scratch? Tell FormGrid what kind of form you need and AI will build it for you — fields, questions, and all.
How to use it
- Create a new form — a dialog titled Create your form appears automatically
- Select Generate with AI
- Describe your form in plain language (e.g., “A customer feedback survey for a coffee shop” or “An event registration form with name, email, and dietary preferences”)
- Click Generate form and wait a few seconds
- A form preview appears — review the generated form
- Click Edit form to apply the result and start customizing in the editor
You can also access this from an existing empty form by clicking the “generate form” link in the editor placeholder.
Tips for better results
The more detail you give, the better the result. Your prompt can cover both content and style in a single sentence.
- Be specific about fields: “A workshop registration form with name, email, company, role, and a dropdown for which session they want to attend”
- Include style direction: “A customer feedback survey with a warm, friendly tone — earthy colors and rounded feel”
- Combine both: “A minimalist bug report form with a dark theme — just title, description, severity rating, and a file upload”
Here are some things the AI picks up on:
- Field types — ratings, file uploads, multiple choice, scales, etc.
- Number and order of questions
- Tone and wording style
- Visual style — color palette, mood, or aesthetic. Phrases like “clean and corporate”, “bold neon on black”, or “soft gradients” will generate a matching theme alongside your form
After generation
The generated form is a starting point — you have full control from there. Edit fields, rearrange questions, tweak the theme, or add anything that’s missing.
